"Prior to joining the course, I felt like I was on an island raising kids nobody else really gets and clueless as to how to best support and advocate for them."

If you wish your child was born holding an instruction manual, you’ve come to the right place. The Gifted and Distractible Course is a blueprint for not only raising your child, but deepening your relationship and increasing his self-confidence.
Stop parenting alone.
Watch at your own pace. Sent to you in between live sessions, with plenty of time to review.
Led exclusively by Julie. Ask about your child, your school, and this week, and learn directly from the expert who wrote the book.
An opportunity for short discussions in small breakout groups with other parents.
Your companion for the course, where you keep track of thoughts and strategies pertinent to you and your parenting experience.
Trackers, templates, and conversation tools, ready when you need them.
A complete directory for 2e life. Your one-stop referral shop: evaluators, specialists and clinicians, schools and programs, books, organizations, and online communities.
Our separate monthly membership, normally $27 a month. Parents meet live with Julie to discuss the monthly theme. Lifetime tier members enjoy forever access to the community.
And what changes at home as we go. The course follows the same three-part path as the book, and the same one Julie uses with private clients: understand your child, build strategies, then advocate.
Stop the guesswork. Learn what giftedness actually means. Understand why your child is years ahead in certain areas and behind in others, and identify the learning differences that can coincide with giftedness. Discover your own parenting style, and what to do when your patience runs out.
"This has been one of the most helpful trainings I’ve taken on the subject of 2e and neurodivergence. This is an underreported topic so googling info just doesn’t cut it."
Christie Sloan
Delve into Julie’s P-R-A-I-S-E framework. Learn strategies to deepen personal connection, reframe behavior, anticipate struggles, apply incentives and choices, and weave in a sense of humor and exercise.
"Julie has a brilliant way of instantly understanding, and then she uses that insight to expand your 2e parenting toolbox on the spot. I’m going to need a bigger box."
DrC
Identify the rage bell curve, and learn how to respond rather than react. Structure morning and evening routines, resolve homework struggles, and address screen time struggles.
"The focus on connection and seeing the relationship as THE most important thing… I have started to find small moments of joy here and there with my kids that I was starving for."
Marie H.
Learn best practices for collaboration with your child’s school, or anyone else in their life. Craft your child’s story, build user-friendly one-page summaries for teacher meetings, and set specific goals. You leave the course with that document in hand.
"What a relief, to be understood in all those challenging areas, and valued for those gifts that our kiddos have."

About 40 minutes of webinars on the weeks you’re watching, and 90 minutes on the Zoom evenings. You can do the workbook in whatever gaps you have.
Every session is recorded and privately posted. Plenty of parents watch afterward and send questions in advance so Julie can still answer them.
No. You don’t need to have started it. You’ll work through it alongside the webinars, and the course stands on its own if you would rather not.
Yes, the book isn’t included. You can order it wherever you normally buy books.
No. The book is the framework. The course is where you apply it to your child, with Julie live and with other parents working through the same material at the same time.
No. Past participants have had children from early elementary through high school, and the strategies adapt. What stays the same is the profile.
No. Grandparents, educators, and clinicians have all taken the course.
No. Enrollment closes October 6, the day the course begins, so that everyone moves through the material together.
The course is eight weeks, taught live, with a defined curriculum. The Community is Julie’s separate monthly membership with ongoing sessions. Every course tier includes two months of it free.
Yes. Julie offers private consults for families who want individual guidance, and many parents do both.
Webinars arrive in your inbox. Watch on your phone in the pickup line, or listen in your car on the way to work, while you’re walking your dog, or while you’re folding laundry. The Gifted and Distractible Workbook guides you the whole way, with prompts for every lesson that connect what you are learning to your own child.
Ninety minutes together on Zoom. Julie takes the theme of that module deeper, answers questions and helps you implement strategies, and you spend part of the session in a small breakout group with other parents.
Can’t make one live? Every session is recorded and privately posted so you can review on your time, and your questions are welcomed in advance so Julie can answer them in the Zoom sessions.
Eight weeks, October 6 through December 1.
Every live session is a Tuesday evening, and all four are recorded, so you can review on your time.
I’m Julie Skolnick, M.A., J.D. I’m a parent of three twice-exceptional children, and I know what it feels like to not know what to do in the moment.
In this 8-week course, parents learn a structured and strength-based approach to identify and resolve triggers, to deepen relationships, and to strengthen self-confidence.
My book, Gifted and Distractible, has more than 200 pages of strategies. This course is where we put them to work. The book is organized in three parts, and so is the course, and so is the workbook, so every module lines up with what you are already reading.
We go through it together. You try something with your child that week, then we get on Zoom and work through what actually happened, in your house, with your kid. That is the part a book on its own can never do.
I’ve spent 15 years guiding families through complex parenting situations. It’s the perfect course for where you are right now in your parenting.
Julie Skolnick, M.A., J.D.
There are good books and good webinars. Here’s what is different about doing it this way.

The book provides a framework. The course is where you learn to implement the strategies by working together, asking questions, and learning from one another.
Julie has a brilliant way of instantly understanding, and then she uses that insight to expand your 2e parenting toolbox on the spot. I’m going to need a bigger box…thank you, Julie.
DrCPrior to joining the course, I felt like I was on an island raising kids nobody else really gets and clueless as to how to best support and advocate for them. Connecting with other parents gave me assurance and tons of hope that we are not alone in this.
Erika ThomasThe live Q&As were invaluable to be able to talk through my specifics as well as getting to meet other parents that are where I’m at, so I felt less alone in my struggles.
Christie SloanThe focus on connection and seeing the relationship as THE most important thing in all of this was probably the most important takeaway for me. I have started to find small moments of joy here and there with my kids that I was starving for.
Marie H.Just amazing! To have Julie’s wisdom live and then get to meet, commiserate and celebrate with parents going through the same things you are. You are not alone anymore. You are finally with people who get IT, and that is the ultimate reward.

Every tier includes the full course: webinars, four live sessions, the workbook, handouts and tools, the 2e Resource Guide, and a two-month membership in the G&D Parent Community. All three tiers can be paid in 3 installments.
